On September 7th, 2017, BLMJ celebrated 25 years since its founding in Jerusalem. A new dedication to founders Elie and Batya Borowski was unveiled at the gala event.

Jewish Culture and the Legacy of the Classical World
On March 29, 2017, AFBLMJ presented Jewish Culture and the Legacy of the Classical World with speakers on topics such as “The Missing Temple in Hellenistic Judaism Revealed” and a perspective of the menorah as Roman art. Speakers included archaeologist Dan Bahat, Professor Steven Fine from Yeshiva University, and New York University’s Dr. Larry Schiffman.
In the Valley of David and Goliath

On March 30, 2016, leading archaeologists and scholars presented findings from the Khirbet Qeiyafa excavations in the Valley of Elah, where the epic battle between David and Goliath was waged. Participating scholars included Professor Yosef Garfinkel from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Professor Shalom Holtz from Yeshiva University, and Professor Lawrence H. Schiffman from New York University.

On May 5, 2015, over 200 guests joined leading scholars as they discussed the Babylonia Exile and Al-Yahudu texts, a collection of cuneiform clay tablets dating to the 6th and 5th centuries BCE and considered a momentous discovery opening up the study of the Jewish Diaspora in Babylonia. Participating scholars included Dr. Laurie Pearce from the University of California, Berkeley, Dr. Lawrence Schiffman from New York University, Dr. Wayne Horowitz from The Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Dr. Daniel E. Fleming from New York University, and Dr. Shalom Holtz from Yeshiva University.
